If you've been watching the news, you'll know that this is about the recent proposal of a constitutional amendment on marriage. Good gravy, people! We have *serious* issues to deal with, and these chuckleheads are more worried about *keeping* their jobs than they are about *doing* their jobs.
And don't get me started about the flag-burning amendment. As long-time readers know, we proudly fly a flag in front of our house, but after these two proposed amendments, I can understand why someone might want to drop a match in protest. Personally, I would never do it, but if vote-pandering politicos can waste our time and money on stupid election-year stunts, then I don't think I can begrudge someone who wants to call them out with a blaze.
The interesting thing about the links above is that the criticism isn't coming from New York or San Francisco -- we're looking at Macon, GA; Forbes magazine; and Kansas City, KS.
This only goes to show that critical thinking is not just confined to the coasts. Although, honestly, I'm still baffled at how we re-elected a loser like Dubya after he failed to protect us in 2001, resurrected the deficit, and in the process took more vacation than any other President.
Stay the course?!? Are you loco?
