The dream of teleporting atoms and molecules - and maybe even larger objects - has become a real possibility for the first time. The advance is thanks to physicists who have suggested a method that in theory could be used to "entangle" absolutely any kind of particle.
Another recent article in Scientific American also reports on quantum entanglement, and points out that:
"In the fuzzy realm of quantum mechanics, the result of the transfer is influenced by the receiver's observation of it."
So, if you teleport into my living room, and I think you're a fly, do you turn into Jeff Goldblum? Do you just stay in a box like that cat, both dead and alive until someone opens it and collapses the probability wave? Is there any chance that you could end up in Bizzaro world?
Man, my head hurts... I wish I were better versed in quantum mechanics.
