Big Bad Blogger Backlog

Hi kids! Uncle Nutty's been slacking lately, but tonight I've got a whole mess of links for your time-wasting pleasure.

Kids, ever dream of a translucent skeleton puppet of your very own? Now you can have one, with this wireframe skeleton from Vector Lounge.

I wish I was the brain scientist who came up with that one, or the rocket scientist who came up with NASA's Solar System Simulator, which creates images of planets and satellites from a perspective of your choosing. Thanks to Doc Searls for pointing out this site in his blog.

Speaking of people pointing stuff out in blogs, Rageboy turned me on to get your war on a few months ago, and that shit still cracks me up. The savory blend of clip art, social commentary, and over-the-top obscenity has a certain intoxicating quality. The latest installment takes a swing at everyone's favorite crooked company with get your enr on.

What's that kids, your parents don't like you reading all those curse words? You know, the funny thing about words and gestures is that they mean different things to different people. In fact, I recently attended an interesting talk on the subject. Uri Kochavi from AM+A came to talk to the DC chapter of the Usability Professionals Association on the topic of "Culture(s) in User Interface Design for the Web and Mobile Computing." Overall, it was a good talk, and there was a lot of discussion around Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions. The basic theme of the evening was that you should take care to know my audience, and that you should tailor your content to their cultural sensibilities. Well, if the email I receive from my tens of dozens of loyal fans out there is any indication, I suspect that you'd appreciate more swearing, not less. Of course, your opinion is always welcome.

And if all that random link babble wasn't enough for you, Yahoo's random link generator should keep you busy until the next episode -- same bat time, same bat channel.
